The programme provides training, guidance and resources to enable a group of pupils to support the schools PE, Sport and Physical Activity and wider school offer across 6 themed areas:
- Mental Wellbeing
- The Virtual Offer
- Partnerships and the Community
- Influencing Change
Each Navigator will receive training and be provided with resources for them to carry out a range of tasks across the school. The project will also provide training for a nominated lead from the school enabling them to implement the project across school with support from Active Black Country throughout.
The Rainbow Navigators programme will develop pupils’ soft skills and enable them to capture this through a portfolio of evidence that can support the wider development of each pupils employability skills.
Who is Rainbow Navigators for?
The Rainbow Navigators project is targeted at 12 pupils from each schools Year 9 classes.
The programme will launch in the summer term (April 2021) with training provided to schools and their Rainbow Navigators either virtually or face to face subject to the latest guidelines from DFE. How to get involved?
The programme is funded by Active Black Country at no cost to schools and will be available to a limited number of Secondary schools across the region on a first come first served basis.
