Active Black Country was ‘hosted’ by Black Country Consortium Ltd from 2006 and operated as an unincorporated entity with an independent board. In September 2022, the Active Black Country Board unanimously approved the establishment of an independent company limited by guarantee with charitable status for the Black Country Active Partnership. Active Black Country Limited (ABC Ltd) was registered in December 2022 under company number 14537800, with a target date of the 1st May 2023 for the transfer of staff & assets from BCC Ltd to ABC Ltd. As we prepared for this transition, whilst still operating within the structure of our former ‘host agency’, Active Black Country effectively operated the unincorporated independent board alongside the Board of Directors for Active Black Country Limited, to oversee the preparation & establishment of the new company ahead of the transfer date. Therefore, there are minutes for both boards, running in parallel with one another for the period between November 2022 - April 2023.
