LGBTQ+

We know we can do more to encourage more lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer/questioning people (LGBTQ+) to take part in sport and activity.

There have been pockets of excellent work that highlight the great benefits of engaging in the workforce, coaching and volunteering but this is one section of our community that we need to explore further.

We need to do more to inform organisations and stakeholders of inclusive support for the LGBT Community. ABC will theme an upcoming Inclusion and Diversity forum around LGBT practices to build understanding and awareness in relation to Sport and physical activity across the Black Country.

Sport England have commissioned various pieces of research to explore participation and the barriers faced by LGBTQ+ people. To visit their website click here.

If you are a specialist provider and would like to contribute to our work in this area or you would like to know more about the Inclusion and Diversity Forums then please contact enquiries@activeblackcountry.co.uk
