Where can you Push the Boat Out in the Black Country this Weekend?

The month of free and low cost sailing and windsurfing continues across the Black Country next weekend (11-12 May) as Walsall Outdoor Pursuits and South Staffs SC invite you and your family to Push The Boat Out.

South Staffs SC, on Gailey Reservoir near Wolverhampton, is opening its doors for you to try dinghy sailing for free from 10am on Saturday 11 May, catering for all abilities, from beginners to experienced sailors.

Meanwhile, just down the M6 on Sneyd Lake, Bloxwich, Walsall Outdoor Pursuits are welcoming all-comers to their watersports open day from 10am on Saturday, with £15 taster sessions available in sailing, disabled sailing and windsurfing plus other watersports activities. Sessions must be pre-booked.

With so much national focus on physical and mental wellbeing, being on the water gives everyone a chance to get away from modern life, spend time with the family, have fun with friends and just enjoy the feeling of being in the fresh air and closer to nature. A real family day out, many Push The Boat Out venues will also be putting on shore-side activities like BBQs and games for the kids too.

All kit and safety equipment is provided so just bring a pair of old trainers you don’t mind getting wet and your sense of adventure and fun. For full details of your nearest Push The Boat Out event visit www.rya.org.uk/ptbo and get on board for a new adventure.
