Commentary

The Black Country remains the most inactive partnership area in England, attributable to a number of factors including high levels of deprivation and consistently performing below the national average across indicators pertaining to wider determinants of health.

Overall, for the Black Country area, 34.8% of adults were classed as inactive.

For the Black Country to be on a par with the national average (25.7%), it would require an additional 88,310 adult residents to be active for at least 30 weekly minutes at moderate intensity.
