Triathlon England and Triathlon Trust launch Club Support Fund

The £40,000 Club Support Fund allows community clubs to apply for grants as part of Triathlon England's ‘The Big Reboot’ campaign.

Triathlon England and the Triathlon Trust have created the £40,000 fund which affiliated community clubs can apply to for grants of up to £400 to help them continue to operate and adapt safely.

Like many small organisations, the pandemic has affected triathlon clubs around England financially as well as seen them face the challenges of adapting training sessions and club activities to being online and run in a Covid Secure manner when allowed.

The initiative is a part of the British Triathlon and the Home Nation’s ‘The Big Reboot’ campaign which will provide the triathlon community with tools, advice and opportunities as a return to in-person activity becomes possible as lockdown restrictions are eased.

‘The Big Reboot’ will see the whole sport come together and return to action as restrictions relax across the country.

As part of this, clubs and volunteers will be invited to take part in the ‘Reboot Conference Week’ from 12 – 15 April to learn and share ideas on how to reboot swim, bike, run within their communities.

The Club Support Fund is available to all community clubs who are affiliated to Triathlon England, and they can apply by completing the online application form before Monday 22 March at 5pm.

Triathlon England CEO, Andy Salmon, said:

Clubs are at the heart of swim, bike, run in this country and our plans for the future. They’ve played a crucial role in keeping the community together during what’s been a really tough 12 months. As the process of getting ready to return to in-person activity begins, I’m so pleased that we’re able to launch this Club Support Fund to help clubs in getting back to action. The fund isn’t just a recovery tool however, because we also want to hear about plans that clubs have for growth and of exciting ways that they want to engage their local communities in swim, bike, run moving forwards.”
