WV Active’s Super Saturday is back during Residents Week

Released: Friday, March 24, 2017

WV Active will be opening all leisure centres for a full day of free fitness activities on Saturday, April 1, to kick-off Residents Week in the City of Wolverhampton.

Visitors are invited to drop into WV Active Aldersley, WV Active Bilston-Bert Williams and WV Active Central, to enjoy a jam-packed day of fitness classes, swimming sessions and sports activities.

The free family event will see the launch of the leisure centre’s first fitness classes for children, Born to Move. The Les Mills branded fitness classes are a mix of dance, martial arts, yoga and sports conditioning and are aimed at 8 to 15 year olds.

Reggae Spin classes will also be launched at all three leisure centres and will give customers the chance to experience a unique workout to reggae and calypso music.

Plenty of sports activities are also on offer at WV Active Aldersley including, tennis, netball, athletics and cycling, while Central and Bilston – Bert Williams will be offering swimming sessions and more fitness classes.

Free mini health checks which include weight, height and blood pressure will be available at all leisure centres on the day.

City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for City Environment, Councillor Steve Evans, said: "This is a great opportunity for residents of Wolverhampton to see the leisure facilities that we have to offer, including the recent refurbishment of WV Active Central.

"We encourage residents to make the most of the free family event and to try out the activities available on the day at WV Active.”
