Ben Mescam Fitness

Physical Activity Provider

I'm a Wolverhampton-based Personal Trainer and Health & Fitness Coach.

We deliver pre-school fun activity/exercise sessions to encourage children to find ways of making getting active fun. We also run sessions based around healthy eating, mental health and the importance of sleep

Having worked in both gyms and outdoor environments as well as creating bespoke online group exercise classes for Wolverhampton Voluntary Sector Council I understand that different people have varying needs and preferences and therefore require different create health and fitness solutions.

I'm passionate about helping as many people as possible lead healthier and more active lives by showing them that it does not need to be "hard work" and can actually be a lot of fun if I can help them find a physical activity that they enjoy.

I am particularly interested in helping young people use sport and movement as a way to look after their mental health in these challenging times, as well as helping people who are overweight find sustainable ways to lose and keep off weight in the long term.

I am actively engaging Wolverhampton Council's Public Health Team, Sport England's Regional Social Prescribing Co-ordinator and the newly created Black Country and West Birmingham CCG about how I can get more involved in "Social Prescription" delivery.

Testimonials

Bootcamp is something both myself and my wife look forward to each Saturday. A Chance to train together in the fresh air in lovely surroundings of Northycote Farm. It is great for our health both physical and mental. That is so important at the moment.

1. It’s given me some gentle exercises to try and keep me moving more. 2. A bit more stamina and movement. Exercise is a happy place for me. 3. My muscles are better. When you do it you feel better after. It’s better to do it with other people. We are all different so we need it for our health. 4. It ensures I get exercise other than walking. 5. The exercises have raised my heart rate in a few minutes and gets the blood flowing in a short space of time reducing the possibility of pooling in the veins. 6. I look forward and enjoy the classes with Ben as the instructor and exercising is so much more interesting when in a group 7. This is really good news. Thank you for driving the exercise class forward and finding the budget to make it possible. I've added detail to my calendar with an alert!
