Active Black Country welcomes New Board Members

Active Black Country is delighted to welcome new board members, who will join our existing board members, to drive forward the partnerships ambitions.

Each board member brings a breadth and depth of experience across a number of fields including Community Regeneration, Education, Marketing, Facility Development, Local Government and Business.

Our organisation has been through a significant time of change over the last twelve months.

The partnership was successful in securing 3 years of funding from Sport England for 2018-21 and we have revised our vision and mission in addition to restructuring the partnership team.

We have strong aspirations and operate to the highest standards of governance and performance with a passionate belief that ‘sport has the power to changes lives’ and are delighted all our board members share this belief.

Next year promises to be hugely exciting with many new opportunities for the Black Country and its people. The Sandwell Aquatics centre, being built for the residents of Sandwell and the Black Country will host the 2022 Commonwealth Games Swimming and Diving competitions.

Board Members were recruited following a skills analysis in line with the partnerships needs in response to the revised role for County Sport Partnerships, which places the emphasis on greater knowledge of the Black Country place and people to understand what can work in tackling inactivity and developing Sport.

The new board members will join the existing board members at our Autumn Away Day in November 2018.
