Funding Available for Female Focused Sports Projects

The Black Country Consortium has launched a ring fenced fund for local partners to access to deliver projects targeted at female only participants. The ring fenced fund has been developed in direct response to Sport England’s popular ‘This Girl Can’ campaign.

The national campaign aims to get more women and girls aged 14 – 40 regularly exercising or playing sport, by removing the stereotypes, providing opportunities for women to take part without fear of judgement.  More details on this campaign can be found at www.thisgirlcan.co.uk

Projects need to target females age 11 to 25 and projects need to take place in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall or Wolverhampton.  Organisations don’t need to have previously applied for funding nor have previous experience of delivering a sport or physical activity session, as support will be available to develop applications.

A revised application form is available from contacts below. Funded by Sport England National Lottery, this is a pilot project that will inform the delivery of future ‘sportivate’ funding across the Black Country.

Up to £3,000.00 is available for each project.  There is limited funding available, so get your applications in early.

For more information please email Jessica Mapp or Joanne Taylor.  Or call Jess on 01384 471114.

Please note - Activity must have finished before Mid-April

This funding is available to local deliverers who can provide female only projects and can demonstrate how their project will be marketed and responds to the needs of women across the Black Country.
